This was the year that we celebrated our 25th year of marriage with a trip to Italy. Our way-too-short (one week) vacation was in March, and we visited Rome, Florence, and Milan. We really loved Florence. There was so much to see and do there—historical sites, art, culture, and food. If you’d like to see more pictures and read more about the trip, please visit the other blog entries here.
Maria worked part-time at the EAA Airventure office in Oshkosh, and volunteered to work at this world-famous air show for one week in the summer as well. It was a wonderful experience for her as she met people from all over the world.
Our son Chris returned home from Afghanistan in November, and is once again reunited with Stacie, Emily, Margaret, and Kate. They’re living at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
We were glad to have Maria’s brother Alex come and visit us, though his stay was way too short. He got to meet his nieces and nephew while here, and they all fell in love with him.
As we write this letter, Maria and I are making plans to move to where there is warmer weather. We accepted an offer on our house and at this time we’re considering a move to Charlotte, North Carolina. We're in the process of preparing an estate sale now. It’s our latest adventure, and this one hopefully includes semi-retirement. We will keep you posted!
We wish you a very Merry Christmas and a New Year filled with laughter and love!
