An Adventure
This trip will be an adventure because it will involve several modes of transportation, overnight stays (mostly camping), and will follow a "play it by ear" itinerary. The adventure calls to mind past continental United States excursions on which I've embarked. As a younger man I've made a couple of cross-country bus trips, a number of car trips, and I once drove a taco truck from where it was built in Los Angeles to a business in Houston. That one is a story for another day.
Last night I bought airfare from Milwaukee to Denver, so that portion of the adventure is secure. From the Denver airport I'll have to figure out the best mode of transportation to the downtown Denver Greyhound station. From there I'll catch a bus to Grand Junction, Colorado, a leg of the trip that will be an over five-hour stretch, but one that Joe promises is a scenic trip worth taking. After meeting Joe in Grand Junction we'll travel in his truck to different locations in Colorado and Utah, capturing images in canyons, mountains, and musical venues.
I'm pleased that Maria is supportive of my adventure--it's not one in which she would like to participate. I am really looking forward to it! More to follow...
